Our partner Walbridge was hired in 2006 to manage the massive South Plant Expansion at Honda of America’ Manufacturing’s Anna Engine Plant.
The project included 340,000 square feet of new construction at the complex in the form of a 135,000-square-foot addition to the manufacturing facility and a 207,000-square-foot addition to expand its existing truck container yard. The $40 million scope included equipment installation and all mechanical, electrical and plumbing inside the expanded areas.
Devon Industrial Group (DIG) came on as a lump sum general contractor half-way through the project and managed construction until through completion in May 2008. Three years later, Honda hired DIG to manage construction of the ALMC 2 expansion of Anna Engine. For this project, DIG managed construction of a 288,000-square-foot manufacturing facility expansion carried out in three phases, a contractor lot relocation, and the installation of additional parking for Honda associates. The mechanical and electrical facility upgrades associated with the project included doubling the central mechanical room chilled water capacity for the North Plant, as well as enlarging the plant’s main electrical power distribution center. Site improvements included installing a new drainage system at the western and southern portions of the facility. The entire project was completed in September 2016.
